Erin Hatzis Owner/Coach Crossfit level i CrossFit level ii Crossfit masters Originally from Nebraska but always dreamed of having the Colorado license plate on her car. Erin grew up being active and competitive- playing sports and trying not to foul out of all her basketball games. After college she wanted to avoid getting a "real job" so she went to graduate school at Wake Forest University. She then spent 10 years as a scientist studying the effects of drugs and alcohol on brain function. Erin has been part of the Fort Collins CrossFit community for 6+ years. After her first class she was hooked and signed up to be a lifetime member. Erin loves lifting heavy barbells, sometimes likes gymnastic movements, but always (always) dislikes double unders. She loves CrossFit as a way to introduce and train healthy patterns of movement to be used in everyday life. When not at the gym you'll most likely find her chasing her kids down "sketchy" mountain bike trails. "Better than yesterday" erin@fortcollinscrossfit.com Brendan "Chow" Tuchowski Coach Burgener Strength Level I Burgener Strength Level II crossfit level i crossfit gymnastics Brendan is from Kingsford, MI where he grew up playing hockey. This is where he first fell in love with weightlifting, spending hours in the gym squatting. He moved from Michigan to Houston, TX to go to school at Baylor College of Medicine for a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics and currently works for Quorum Prosthetics in Windsor, CO. When Brendan moved to Colorado, he was only a runner, but quickly realized he needed something else. He tried Crossfit out of the blue and fell in love instantly; He has been a member at FCCF for four years now. Brendan loves any workout with a heavier barbell and running (as long as its not cold out). He has spent the last year working on Olympic weightlifting by following the Invictus weightlifting program coached by Jared Enderton and recently completed the Burgener Level One Weightlifting course. “The grass isn’t greener on the other side - the grass is greener where YOU water it.” “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” - Theodore Roosevelt Ann Richmond Coach Crossfit level i Precision Nutrition Coach Kettlebell Athletics Functional Movement Screen Ann is from Virginia, Minnesota way up north on the Iron Range, but lived in Wyoming for 18 years. She spent 14 years in Lander and 4 in Cheyenne before moving to Fort Collins this past spring. She has 2 daughters, a step-daughter, and a step-son. Ann began doing CrossFit in the fall of 2013 and was immediately hooked. She was a collegiate swimmer before transitioning into triathlon. Ann has completed multiple road and trail marathons, century road bike rides and the Dakota 5-0. She was competitive at sprint, Olympic, half- Ironman, and Xterra distances. “As my kids have become busier in their own athletic careers, both are swimmers, CrossFit has become an easier, more efficient way for me to stay fit and healthy. I feel I am a much better mother and overall person when I am active.” Ann continued CrossFit through repair of 3 holes in her heart (2 ASDs and a PFO) and an achilles rupture repair. “Giving up for me is not an option.” She taught elementary school for a total of 14 years and has been a swimming, triathlon, nutrition, and/or strength and conditioning coach at all levels since she was 16. Ann is excited to have recently gotten her CrossFit Level 1. “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but by all means, keep moving.” - Martin Luther King Jr |
Phil Kamps Owner/Coach Crossfit Level I Phil was born in Colorado, but spent time growing up both in Littleton CO and Port Jeff Long Island. Phil moved to Fort Collins in 2007 and now calls this home. Phil has been doing CrossFit since 2016 but joined Fort Collins CrossFit in 2018 where he found like-minded 5am’ers who show up every day before the sunrise for fitness and community. Phil wishes bench day was programmed once a week, but is equally as happy as long as deadlifts and squats are in a WOD each week. He is also really proud of making the board for his CrossFit total – because making one of the Girl boards requires too much cardio. Phil really enjoys coaching the teens and our Athlete Academy and is hoping to grow this group and provide a place for our local kids to not only train through their off seasons, but learn to love CrossFit as much as he does. Dave Brough Coach Crossfit Level I Dave was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and came to Northern Colorado after a few years in Georgia. He was a soccer fanatic growing up and also loved music. Dave is a geek by day doing lots of math and working with computers. Dave fell in love with Crossfit after his first workout in 2008 and has never looked back. He has been coaching since 2012 and has been a part of the Fort Collins CrossFit community for over 4 years. “If you want to increase your success rate, double your failure rate.”- Thomas Watson Jr. Josiah Weber Coach Crossfit Level I crossfit level ii Crossfit gymnastics Josiah is a Fort Collins native, born and raised, and doesn't understand why someone would want to leave. He has grown up with CrossFit, starting in 2010 at the age of 13. When he's not at the gym he can usually be found consuming or crafting stories. "From being a young teen tagging along with his friend to now being a coach, FCCF has been my home for many years. Over that time I've developed a love for human movement that CrossFit, with its variety, is unrivaled in showcasing and developing. I'm excited to be coaching at FCCF to give back to the community I call home by helping them improve their lives, as mine has been, through movement." "You are training for something right now, you just don't know what. But when the day comes, don't wish you had trained harder!! Make 'IT' pay for even thinking taking you on was a good idea." -Jeff Bramstedt - Josiah Chris Dulawan Coach Crossfit Level I Growing up on the west coast, Chris decided to leave the beaches of Santa Barbara in 2014 to move east to "sow some seeds" with his new wife Clementine (also a member). After a short stint in Denver, they randomly visited Fort Collins and decided to move the very next month. Chris and Clem have set their roots in the Front Range foothills while raising three kids, building his business as a Real Estate agent, and creating a community of friends in AND out of the gym. The most surprising benefit of CrossFit Chris discovered is how encouraging the owners/ members are in Fort Collins CrossFit. Chris holds so much gratitude for his now friends at Fort Collins CrossFit because his overall health and mobility is higher which allows him to be more confident. As a younger human, Chris grew up being described as "constantly in motion" surfing, exploring, playing sports like water polo, hockey, volleyball, and more. CrossFit is the only form of exercise that compares to the activities he loves because it combines the right amount of skill & challenge, along with the ability to continually improve through competitiveness with the self. “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.” ― Dalai Lama XIV |
Caleb Cox Coach Crossfit LEVEL I crossfit level ii Caleb is originally from Arizona, but moved to Northern Colorado from St. Louis (Go Blues and Cardinals!). Caleb's full time job as a pastor at a local church brought him and his wife Kristen to Fort Collins. The active lifestyle and craft beer make it impossible to leave. "I've always been an athlete and have been involved in team and individual sports my entire life. However, it wasn't until grad school that I tried CrossFit. First ever CrossFit workout, I bailed halfway through to go throw up. I've loved it ever since. The day I walked into FCCF, I knew it would not only be my fitness home, but a supportive and encouraging community also. My favorite part of being one of the coaches here is seeing people do things they never imagined possible." Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Kendree Brough Coach crossfit level i crossfit level ii Kendree is from Salt Lake City Utah, but has lived in India, Iowa, Georgia, Maryland, Connecticut, and now Colorado. She was a collegiate and semi-professional soccer player, then found CrossFit shortly after college. She has done CrossFit through 4 pregnancies and through an achilles rupture repair. “I love CrossFit because you can modify all workouts to your own abilities and any limitations you may have. It’s worked out well for me and I’m not bored yet, so I keep coming back for more!” “Results happen over time, not overnight. Work hard, stay consistent, and be patient.” Melissa "Melly" Savage Coach crossfit level i us powerlifting certification power athlete block i Melissa is originally from Los Angeles California, trading in her surf board for a mountain bike and snowboard. While you're building a better you, consider getting your dog a trainer too. We highly recommend The Fort Collins Dog Wizard. We teamed up with them to offer evening dog classes at the gym after the great experience we had working with them!
